I aim to capture my clients in more of a natural environment as opposed to a completely posed session.

What should we wear for our session?
Clothing is a very important consideration when planning your session. The clothing you choose should compliment both you/your child and the environment in which the session is taking place. Layered clothing often works well in photos, as well as using items that bring in elements of texture and color such as hats, scarves and rain boots. In most cases, siblings should color coordinate, but not match exactly. I am happy to offer suggestions on colors for the specific location and time of year your session is taking place.

What locations are available for sessions?

Currently I exclusively shoot on location, utilizing natural light as much as possible. This allows me to be able to provide unique and custom images for every client. Whether it be in your home, an urban setting or park, I will always be sure that the surroundings enhance the beauty of the images. Choice of location will be discussed in the phone/email consultation to ensure that your location will suit your desires for your finished portraits. A small travel fee may be applied to certain locations.

What time of day do you prefer to shoot?

I usually shoot my outdoor sessions in the 1-2 hours before sunset or early in the morning. These times can vary depending on the time of year, but I generally try to avoid the high mid-day sun.

Why do you only show us approximately 30 proofs when you take so many pictures at our session?

I choose the very best images from your session to process and share with you. Only images that meet my exacting quality standards make the final cut. I will show you only the very best from your session! “The best” images are not always judged on technicalities either, I’m a big fan of candid portraits and will include many of them in your gallery even if they may not be technically perfect.

Will I see color and black and white versions of all of my photos?

No, not necessarily. I use my artistic judgment about which photos look best in color and black and white. If, upon viewing your final images, you would prefer one be changed to black and white just ask. I will convert up to five images to black and white with no additional charge.

When should I schedule my session?

In order to provide the best possible quality experience for each client, I limit the number of sessions I make available on a weekly basis. I offer sessions seven days a week. I recommend booking your session as early as possible (at least 4 weeks in advance) to ensure availability.

What if I need to cancel?

I understand that things come up and you may need to cancel or reschedule your session, but in order to protect everyone involved I have strict policies in place. Your session fee is due at time of booking, I will send you a PayPal invoice or you can send a check by mail. This fee is non-refundable. In the event you are unable to make your session date/time you may reschedule and apply your deposit.
*I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you fail to cancel by phone or email within 24 hours of your scheduled date there will be a $50 re-scheduling fee applied that must be paid before your session.
