Creepy Crawly Lunch

Are you looking for a fun Halloween lunch to send to school with your kids or maybe a quick dinner before they are off to fill up on buckets of candy? You’re in the right place! Nobody has time to spend on dinner when you’re fitting costumes, finding candy buckets and answering the door for trick-or-treaters. Whip up this super fast, three-ingredient crowd pleaser and win the Super Mom of the year award:)

This corndog centipede or milipede, (depending on how much time you have on your hands) is sure to get rave reviews.

You’ll need:

Package of mini corndogs

Bag of chow mein noodles

Your favorite condiments

Directions:

Bake mini corndogs according to package directions.

Place them in a wiggly row with the wide lengths touching each other. Make your creature as long as you’d like! You can make one really long one or a few shorter ones.

Stick a dried noodle in each end of each corndog. Add two on the head for antennae. Be careful, the corndogs are hot!

Add eyes with ketchup or mustard.

Serve with additional condiments.

The first time making this I worried the noodles might break trying to stick them in the corndog, but they don’t! No need to make the holes first, just stick the noodles right in.

If you are sending for a lunch you can connect the corndogs with toothpicks so they stay together.

For dinner try placing a folded piece of foil across the middle of the dinner table and allow the kids to grab their own segments to eat! If you want to get gory about it add piles of ketchup or mustard in between broken segments. Blood and guts, Eeew!

A Simply Spooky Treat; Spider Eggs

With Halloween just around the corner I thought I’d share some of my favorite spooky treats. Today we’ll look at Spider Eggs!

These would make a fun treat for a classroom party. They are store-bought as most schools require these days. It would also make a fun breakfast, great after school snack or treat to bring to a Halloween party.

All you need are some store-bought powdered donut holes and plastic spiders. I bought my plastic spiders here but this time of year you can find them in almost any local store. Spider rings would also work here and I’m sure you’d have no problem finding homes for them!

Arrange the donut holes on your serving platter and place many little spiders throughout! Simple, fast and super fun!

Mad Scientist Party {Portland Party Planner}

This was such an exciting party to plan and even more fun to watch the kids enjoy! Most of the experiments were using regular household products and the treats were simple to create while still making a big impact, my favorite combination. The amazing element cookies were made by my favorite cookie genius over at http://www.wackycookies.com
