I was amazed at the support received from the Mini Sessions For A Cause. I thought about doing another round, but decided this time I wanted to put more focus on raising awareness.

MG is an autoimmune neuromuscular disease that affects all ages, races and genders.
MG symptoms include weakness in muscles that control eye movements and eyelids,
chewing, swallowing, coughing, facial expressions, arm and leg movements, and breathing.

I had never even heard of this disease until my sister was diagnosed earlier this year. Awareness is imperative to finding a cure am I am willing to pool my resources to do my part in helping my family and all the other families affected by MG.

Even $1 from each person on your Facebook page, each co-worker, each cell phone contact or just YOU will help!

 

With three small boys I’m no stranger to bribery, but let’s call it “incentive.” I have five prizes waiting for the top donations. You can enter this contest on your own or build a team. The top prize will be FIVE full hour family sessions (to be used within one year), each one includes an 8×10 and two 5×7 prints! These can be split up among families and/or friends. I am also waiving the four person limit on these family sessions so if you have been waiting to get that extended family portrait NOW is the time to go for it! A family portrait makes an amazing holiday gift for your family and the donations  make an amazing gift to so many families, mine included.

Here is how it works:

 

You and/or your team gets as many donations as they can before the end of July. First place will go to the person/team with the highest amount in donations and so on down the line. It’s like an auction, but more fun and it offers more opportunities for raising awareness. Donations must be made to this link http://mgwalk.org/mgwalk/participantpage.asp?fundid=721&uid=4839&role=1&nnaffundid=71  Then you, the team rep or the person donating needs to post on Lemonberry Moon’s Facebook wall or email lemonberrymoon@gmail.com letting me know the name of the person who donated and which person/team it was for. They can also add it as a note when they make the donation.

 

Now even though I’ve tried to offer a good number of prizes, not everyone can win. Donations are made directly to the MG Foundation. Even if you do not win donations will not be returned! My hope is that all the donations will be made in good faith that you are helping a great cause and the prizes are just a super cool bonus.

 

Some ideas for getting those donations:

 

Offer something in return, do you make something crafty?

Can you babysit, walk their dog, mow the lawn?

You could have a bake sale, who doesn’t love cookies?

Help the kids set up a lemonade stand! FYI – Those otter pop popsicles go fast at a lemonade stand too!

Ask each person to just donate $1, it adds up fast!
